you know what it is. no, seriously. you do.

Attention all artists, directors, and creative types: if you’re looking for a way to get your new music video out to a hip, attractive, and tech-savvy audience, this is your outlet.
The Mixtape Show, the internet’s most popular and groundbreaking iTunes hip-hop podcast since its relaunch in early 06, is making the move from a strictly audio movement to a video podcast as well.
The video show is set to be just as unpredictable as the audio one – music videos, skits, interviews, special effects, reviews, how-to sessions with successful artists and entrepreneurs, and more; with a freshness and interactivity that just isn’t possible with traditional network television.
We’ve got the host, the audience, and the pipeline (currently, 30,000+ downloads per audio episode) – what are you bringing to the table?
Who/What We’re Looking For:
Artists/Videos.
If you’ve got something cutting-edge, holler at us. The same standard of quality on the audio series applies to the video series as well. We want crazy visuals, hot tracks, innovation. No dudes standing around in white tees chatting over boring club joints, or other boring MTV/BET rejects.
New Media Geniuses.
We’re all about pushing the boundaries of this new media thing, so if you’ve created your own animated video to a new or classic song, or some other short feature that you think would work in our show, we want to talk to you.
Sponsors.
Something’s gotta keep the lights on around here. If you have a technology product, fashion line, event, or other product or service that you think would be interesting to a young, connected, and progressive audience, get at us.
Entrepreneurs/Artists.
Do you have a grind that is unique or interesting, and are you interested in sharing that with the next generation of independent hustlers? Are you an artist wants to be featured on the show doing your thing, whether that’s freestyling, beatmaking, graf writing, or whatever? We want to talk to you. Our upcoming features include rap cats showing us their skills on everything from beatmaking to skateboarding to kung fu – what do you have to show us?
So that’s it. If you’ve been waiting for a progressive outlet for your progressive content/product/movement, this is that time to get on board with us. Shows will be featured as free downloads in iTunes, the Mixtape Show site, and also made available on YouTube and other hip-hop related networks.

Aaaaand that’s what an English major is for. So yeah, the word is official now. I’ve been hella busy this last week (ep 75 coming soon), but I wanted to open up this process to the community first. This is the basic framework - if you have any ideas, comments, whatever - either get at me in the comments or email/IM me. This is going to be an interesting summer.

yeah man, i think it’s great you doing this… unfortunately, I can’t give any videos and stuff coz I ain’t made any (or have the technology to :)) but yeah… hope it does well and looking forward to seeing it. Oh and by the way, Exhume is NOOOT me :). It’s my friend who just wanted to post some drum loops (like the background to a song or something), he wanted to hear if you thought it was good as a drum loop. Oh, and he told me he made it something called ‘Fruityloops’.

Anyway, keep on at it

MR U - ah, got you. I’ve actually already got videos coming in (!), so no worries. And hell yeah I know Fruityloops - I think most people are at least familiar with it. They call it FL Studio now, though. And as a drum loop - depends on what dude was going for, but as background, sounded fine to me!
SE - no doubt - and that goes for everyone. What do you all want to see on this thing? Brainstorm here, let me know!!
