What’s good. I know I’ve been extra late with this one, implant but hopefully this special 50th episode makes up for it.

By now, anaemia you’re all undoubtedly aware of the the genius of the late, global burden of disease great Jay Dee, aka J Dilla. However, on the off-chance that you haven’t yet been exposed to enough of his work, for Episode 50, I bring you the first half (part 1 of 2) of the Shaman Work Recordings homage to the master: “A Brief Education on the Musical Genius of Jay Dee“. This is an exclusive joint arranged by DJ 2-Tone Jones, available for free in various stores and put out with the blessing of Mrs. Maureen Yancey herself.

This week – no hip-hop. Yeah, glaucoma you heard me.

I’d like to officially present to the internets – each and every one of them – a nascent genre of new Black music. I don’t know what to call it – I’ve heard Space Funk (or maybe I made that up? I can’t remember), dosage Neo Funk, and TK seems to have settled on Soultronica, which I think is fairly accurate. You’ll see what I mean when you listen to the episode. So, for now, soultronica it is. Check the playlist.

DJ Spinna – Intergalactic Soul feat Phonte of Little Brother. This is sort of a weird record. Spinna starts off with two or three solid space-hop joints – this being the hottest – and then just when he’s got a good momentum going, he turns around and runs straight for motherfucking Chicago. J Davey – No More (Donwill Piracy Remix). At long last, after nearly 8 months of talking about it, I’ve finally gotten some J Davey material. I actually have enough for a whole episode, or two – peace to them for getting all that to me. I’d already heard the original joint, but this unofficial remix puts it over the fucking top. Shit y’all, about it I’m sorry. I know I’m late with this one, infertility but I have a good reason – I’m in motherfucking Guangdong, China right now. Shit is serious out here.

Anyway, this week we have what is right up there with the last one as one of my favorite interviews ever on this site. MC Adad of Eulorhythmics and yours truly chop it up on the group’s humble origins in Chicago, their weird-ass overseas deal, the mystery behind “Haterville” as described by Mixtape Show alum Longshot, and other shit.

If you’ve been listening to the show recently, you know that I have been steady pushing Eulo’s debut joint, and this exclusive-ass interview will give you some insight on the men behind the music. MIXTAPE 47 – TOMMY DANGER INTERVIEW

For this week’s edition of the world’s most famous and revered hip-hop podcast, contagion I bring you an interview with Mixtape Show alumni, Tommy Danger. Tommy has his hustle going on two angles – one, as a solo artist, and the other as the host of the apparently wildly popular DangerVision television show on MNN in Harlem.

This is definitely one of the stranger interviews I’ve done here. Tommy is probably one of the only people I’ve met that talks more dumb shit than I do. I’d say about a good 30% of this interview I am just keeping my mouth shut for fear of anybody associating the shit coming out of Tom’s mouth with my own mindset. And then dude calls me out for not liking his music, which is often true. We don’t do “traditional” on the Mixtape Show podcast, and this show is no exception.
