Thanks everyone for all the love on the last episode. We’re well on our way to becoming the best fucking hip-hop podcast in history. I mean, we already are, but we’re just waiting for everyone else (and also Google) to realize that. To thank you all for your dedication, though, I bring you this: the very first 80s hip-hop video review on a hip-hop podcast show EVER. check it…

I remember hearing a while back that Hulk Hogan had put out a rap record in the 80s or something, but this is much much better.

Apparently during the 80s rap craze, which is sort of like the 2000s hate-on-people-of-color craze but with less illegal imprisonment of US citizens, someone, somewhere, decided that it would be a good idea for Mr. T to start rapping.

I mean, okay, I’m not saying that Mr. T shouldn’t rap. Dude was in A-Team, he can do whatever the fuck he wants. But yeah, turns out that he made a music video, which you can watch here.

This one introduced me to Copperpot - it was the first joint on his radio-only release, Chapter 7, Verses 1 and 2. It can also be found on vinyl (his first ever release), but other than that, I don’t think you’re gonna hear it anywhere else but here. Bam sounds like a real angry dude and drops some pretty ragged lines. Chess can play this one down all he likes, but I still dig the track. Get at me when you remix it, man.

Blow f/ Psalm One (exclusive!) This is mixtape show exclusive, meaning that you are not going to hear this anywhere else, for now, forreal. The homegirl Psalm One jumps through with a catchy as hell hook and damn it, I hate writing about music. Just listen, you will like it, trust me.

It seems that the intarwebs were all abuzz with talk about the Super Tangent a while ago, and then all of a sudden they found some shiny new thing and started fawning over that. Whatever, though, even though I really really wanted the Top Tangent or EZ Tangent (they both have OLED screens so that you can actually see what the fuck you’re doing), I decided that since I need an mp3 player, what the hell.

I mean, it’s sort of sad that the host of the best mixtape / hip-hop podcast doesn’t even have an mp3 player. So you know, in the spirit of mixtapes, i.e. bootlegging, and given the fact that the Super Tangent is a bootleg iPod, I figured that the Super Tangent was the shit for me. So I copped one for like $75 on eBay, the 1 gigabyte version, which came with a “silicone skin” that was white, which upsets me because I wanted to be like Camron and get the pink one. Goddamnit.
